PELVIC BONES MULTISPIRAL COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY

Description: CT of both hip joints has been performed in axial projection:

An interchange of the thinned bone tissue and sclerosis zones is determined in right femoral head: this might correspond to aseptic necrosis of the bone of the head. Similar changes are determined in bones forming cotyloid cavity. Articular split lumen is sharply narrowed on the right side; articular surfaces are deformed; massive osteophytes are differentiated on the edges of articular surfaces.  Right femoral head is flattened; femoral neck is shortened.

Subchondral sclerosis of the acetabular roof is determined on the left side. Articular surfaces are deformed. Height of articular split is lowered. Left femoral head is not flattened; femoral neck is not shortened. Destructive changes are not found.

On the edge of the researched field some single osteosclerosis areas with dimensions up to 6*5 mm are determined in iliac crest bones: bone islands probably.

Conclusion: Obtained data may correspond to aseptic necrosis of the right femoral head, arthrosis of Grade 3. Left hip joint arthrosis of
Grade 1-2.

Medical advice: Consulting with orthopaedicsurgeon and rheumatologist.
