Patient admitted with worsening shortness of breath, IPC inserted for malignant effusion. Drained 6l over a couple of days including these fibrous structures. Once these had passed through the drain the patient had sudden improvement in oxygen saturations and blood pressure. Was able to be discharged the following day.
